No I wouldn't.
If you are a graphic designer, you really need to be proficient with software - try phoning around companies offering yourself for unpaid work experience, or get yourself qualified. Good luck.

I will absolutely do that!
Sometimes the talent is not inside a super pc geek.. I mean I am one of those, but I can say very honestly that I don't have as much creative ideas as a friend of mine who works in a restaurant.
I think he should work where I am, and he would be ten times more creative.
I mean that man you say has talent, now you just give him some help, if you hire him, you should get him to pass the credits for the software you use.
But then, the best part you have it with the guys talent. You can get a tech an work in conjunction. You'll probably have a best team and best work than before.
Good luck!

I wouldn't hire him. I'd tell him to catch up on the software you are using and reapply at a later date.
Being a graphic designer is more than having great ideas.

I might in a part-time capacity. However, if the job requires software usage you really need someone with those skills. You could hire the guy as a consultant or hire him part-time & bring in someone with software skills part-time to balance out the job requirements.
If he has some computer skills he may be able to learn the software fairly quickly and that could also be a hiring consideration. You could even hire him for a three month probationary period to see if he comes up to speed.

Tough question for you: Does this mean you think your ideas are great, but you're admitting you don't know any softwware?
OR
Do you want to know whether there's still a place for old school pre-computer designers who design with pencil and paper?
OR
Something else?
If one -- I'd have to see some ideas.
If two -- yes, for layout and design, if the company is large enough to have production people who can run with your tight sketches

No.
I'd want someone who can use the software to such a precise degree that they can make any ideas look perfect.

Perhaps you can hire him as an intern or apprentiship so not only can you benefit from his ideas he can benefit from learning how to use the software....
