USC does not deserve a higher ranking. Michigan's one loss was to the number one team. USC had a loss to Oregon State, which is an 8-4 team that is not in the top 25. Therefore, USC should not have a higher ranking.

BTW, I am not a fan of Michigan, USC, Oregon State, or Ohio State. It is just a matter of simple fairness.

I won't buy into USC having a tougher schedule. I don't remember them playing the number 1 team in the nation at all during the year. I think the only reason they're in 2nd is 'cuz they still have 2 weeks left on their season while Michigan was already finished. He who wins last moves higher. I don't think it's fair at all to Michigan, and i honestly think that there was a little bit of a plot coming from the PAC 10 starting later and ending later. Just my opinion though. USC's no slouch, that's for sure.

of course USC should be ranked #2.

1. who cares about the loss to oregon state way back then. USC is a different team now; and they are playing like they can beat the best teams out there. just ask oregon, cal and notre dame.

2. michigan had their chance and failed.

3. michigan did not win their conference, however, USC won theirs

4. USC plays a tougher schedule

5. it would not be fair to ohio state if they had to play michigan again

USC should be #2. The schedule is tougher, particularly out-of-conference, where they played three teams who can still get into BCS bowls (Arkansas, Nebraska, and Notre Dame).

Yes they should - becasue they have played higher ranked teams and plus, Michigan had their chance to bet Ohio State and failed.
