I love Rock Sound because they keep it real and write about new bands because they're good not because there's a big hype or marketing budget behind them like the rock weeklies do. It comes from a small independent publisher and you can see that they really love music.

It's a print magazine plus has a website www.rock-sound.net

I have discovered so many great bands through Rock Sound. They wrote about Mastodon before anyone else and feature great bands like Coheed and Cambria on the cover.

Plus there is a a CD on every issue so you can hear as well as read about the new bands they feature.

There has been a redesign recently and it now comes with a giant poster every issue which is ace except that i need more wall space.

try Kerrang. they have a digital radio station, a magazine, a website and a satellite TV channel. they play / feature rock & metal music from the past 3 decades. they also tend to do features on new bands, and review a lot of new bands lps, they even go to the extent of telling u after each review what the main influences of the new band are, so u get a good idea on whether or not u will like the style of music of that particular band.

Revolver is a pretty good magazine for rock/metal bands. Not sure if they've got a site though.

Mixmag is the worlds best selling electronic music magazine. Check out mixmag.net to sort a subscription. Their Cds are ace too. They review all the new tracks plus put links from their mag to their website so you can buy the tracks you read about. Dunno about Rock or Metal stuff though - sorry. try Kerrang.
