My family and I were puting up our Christmas decorations yesterday (the light up reindeers and the tree), and we noticed that the Santa was broken. If one light goes out, they all go out, and it'd take us hours to find out which one didn't work. So, we went to Sears to find some sort of light-up Santa for the yard, Surprisingly, they had just about everything else except Santa. We also went to Lighthouse and a store near us, and they didn't have one either (and Lighthouse usually has everything). Are people losing interest in Santa? Is Santa somehow offensive to some group or something?

Go to ebay for your best bet. No wasting gas, no lines, and the ability to choose from new to used Santas. Keep in mind the shipping charges would probably be approx. what you would be spending in gas money anyways searching.
When my daughter said she did not believe in Santa anymore, I had to remind her that Santa is very much real, and is in her heart and for her never to be to old to be a Santa.

With so many groups now against anything related to Christ, yes,Santa and anything that has to do with Christmas is being left out,the stores themselves, catering to certain groups also are caving in,the problem is that the silent majority never speaks out and a handful of people usually get their way.

i don't think people are losing interest in santa. i mean sure there is less commercializing of santa out there, but you have to understand that santa was never the meaning of christmas in the first place. christmas is to celebrate the birth of Jesus, and more people out there are becoming religious, so i can see more people putting less focus into santa and mor focus into Christ. i know it seems like i'm preaching, but that is the real reason for christmas in the first place.

Come to Houston Texas we have Santa everything in the stores. I think the big thing now are the inflatable Christmas outdoor ornaments. I don't like them too well but they might not get stolen as easy.

I think people are seriously losing interest in the true meaning of Santa. Everyone is caught with what presents they want and decorating their homes that they have lost what the season really should stand for and what "Santa" did and what that meant for those he did it.

I don't think santa is offensive, I just hope that Christmas means more to people than a fat, jolly fellow delivering earthly possessions that mean very little. It's a nice fairy tale.
To me it is more meaningful to see a baby in the manger (representing Jesus) than a santa.

i dont really think people are losing interest as much as people are starting to think of christmas as more than just santa and presents now. there are more powerful symbols of winter such as sowman and angels. I don't think we are losing interest as much as we are pushing him aside.
