I dont have a TV anymore, after i stopped watching it i realised just how much of my time i used to spend in front of it. Not having a Tv makes my house much more sociable and if you ever miss it you can always just watch a dvd. I would definatly recommend it although everyone is different so maybe you should try living without it for a while and see how it goes.

I could easily live without a television, but I choose to have one as its my easiest way of getting up to date news - some days I don't fancy going out to get a paper.
There are good shows on occasionally.
If the TV licence fee was increased by much, I'd consider not having a TV.

I feel that I couldn't do it myself but I had friends growing up whose parents were very literate and artistic people, they banned having a television inside their house. The children grew up to be very active, creative, and intelligent. I don't know if this is a direct correlation between not having a TV equaling those qualities but it seems like people who don't will lead healthier lives. you have nothing to sit in front of and watch which is contributing to obesity, poor communication, and laziness in a lot of households.

I didn't have a tv for years and it didn't bother me in the slightest. If there was something I wanted to see then I went to a friend's house. That wasn't often because when you don't have a telly you don't have the need to see anything, if that makes sense. It's like chocolate, you don't eat it, you don't crave it. But to this day I could not live without radio. It is essential. The telly is just frills.

Can be great for some people. TV is not a necessity. I don't watch 4 days out of the week, so I think I could live without it if I have to. I just don't have that kind of attention span to do without it forever..LOL. Hope you have a great hobby...

I like watching Tv from time to time. I'm not addicted, but I enjoy watching some tv shows, like "24", "Grey's anatomy", the news... I think Tv is a great source of interesting information.

Best Idea. I am glad sombody else out there also understands how full of s**t it is. one could conclude that people watch it so much it is as if it is their god or something.
I am already living a very happy life without this stupid human invention and I would reccomend it to everyone.
Thanks for asking a reasonable Q.
Ps if you cant live w/out films there is cinema, theater and also computers can play dvds. IF YOU MUST WTCH THAT S**T.

Well it has been replaced with need to express ourselves through entertainment on a more in tense matter of computer and reaching out and feeling important,
If no Tv we will have to learn to communicate again but with whom as everyone is working to put bread on the table and on and on.

I think that's a pretty good idea. Although I watch movies in theatre and on DVD, I don't watch TV at all...haven't for years. Very little of it is anything but garbage.

I did without for five years. Got lots of reading done. Only downside: I fell miserably behind the times on pop culture references!
