It happened to me. It can happen to you. Good luck getting it back once it happens.

I spent 10 years on that account, and I will spend the next 10 years fighting to get it back. Even if I have to pull Semel aside himself at the next investor meeting.

Thats why you open another account to use Yahoo Answers. Then when the account gets deleted, it won't be your main one.

You are correct.
I frequently reply with thought and fact to questions in the politics forum...
Last week I had the opportunity to get about a dozen violation notices by being reported. I think that I know who it was because I was disagreeing with him in all of his posts. So, he then started reporting me and even went so far as to find other posts I had made in other forums and started reporting me there.
Oh, and then he sent me a profane riddled email.
And so, I am thinking that Yahoo just auto deletes and sends you a message. I don't think that there is an human interaction what so ever. If some one clicks abuse report, you get auto-dinged.
I sent an email to Yahoo to complain... they sent me back a ya, we will look into it email. Still have heard nothing.

Welcome to the online circus. If morons were reporting people back in the Yahoo Chat days, why would this be different?
Sadly, many individuals are unable to discern from reality and the on-line world. On-Line, most people are anonymous and able to create the "character" they will present to the world. Hence, you have a lot of on-line bullies and antagonists who like to stir up trouble. While most people can ascertain which is a real threat, the so-called on-line bullies are usually the ones who report others, especially people with a higher vocabulary, better typing skills and common sense. Let the morons be themselves, as living well truly is the best revenge.

Yea, it's shocking ( but then again not shocking) to observe the many censors we have in this country who truly "hate America" because free speech is a bedrock of our principles. The one that cracks me up in here is what they say 'that's not a real question'. A questions a question.

Didn't know that but if that's true then freedom of speech is in jeopardy of being replaced with think or doing anything the way the people in charge of the country think.

Do you mean the Yahoo answers political section, or is there another one you mean? I'm confused but interested.

Their are more important things in life than Yahoo Q&A. who cares about them and what they think. And the people on here should have no effect on your life, who cares what they think anyway, its just a Q&A form.

I am excrutiatingly aware that there are those in YA who act like children, reporting legimate answers or questions simply because they don't like them. Liberals scream it's conservatives doing it and vice versa. The truth is that this childish nonsense is coming from both sides.

It depends on what you mean by "basic active participation". Are you being abusive? IMHO there is more abuse of the "abuse" button than there is of the forum.
