Don't you just hate it? Or Motown? It all seems to be based on how your pour heart bleeds. Purleeease! Spare me.

They're my choices as most evil tunes anyway. What style of music makes you want to throw a shoe at the radio and why?

Ok diablo just for you: I like a lot of rock music and good pop music (as in bands not manufactured Pop Idol rot). I'm not averse to a good classical tune either. By the way, the artists you mention are mostly good reasons for me to lob a welly at the radio. Each to their own but it's just not for me. Bon Jovi and Leanne Rimmes noooooo thank you. But happy listening if that's what you like. This wasn't meant as a personal dig at anyone. I find it strange that some people feel so attacked just because we all have different tastes.

I love Country music :)
My favourite sub-genre is Outlaw Country - brilliant stuff that sounds perfect to my ears.

I don't like hardly any pop, grunge, emo, sk8, punk, rock, dance, trance, hardhouse, rap or R&B music.

I pretty much only like Country and Rock Opera.

Music is like a tree and rock, country, punk, metal, and R&B are fruits of the blues tree.

Western music was really its own tree and country was to it like rap is to R&B. Early Western music lovers didn't like country much in the same way that country music lovers don't like this new wave of "pop country" like Shania Twain, etc.

Without the blues, there wouldn't have been any R&B. If there hadn't been any R&B, the early rockers wouldn't have had anyone to steal from...so no Elvis.

No Elvis would mean, no other rock 'n' roll, so the sound wouldn't have evolved into other offshoots like punk and metal, so:

No Judas Priest = No Green Day

There are plenty of songs in country that don't have anything to do with bleeding hearts. The same is true with Motown too. Look at the whining songs put out by Nirvana - this is just about record companies making money and the easiest way is to draw in the girls. Young girls especially are the target of record company execs and they all think that they've loved, lost, and learned. It's a classic formula.

Personally, I don't like reggae, the sound of a saxophone, or rap. There are talented people who do it, but there hasn't been anyone yet that has made me rush out to buy their CD.

You obviously haven't listened to "New Country". It's the closest thing to good ol' fashion Rock & roll since the 50's & 60's where it all began for your generation & mine. Check out Bon Jovi with Jennifer Nettles, Elton John & LeAnn Rimes or Ray Charles & Willie Nelson. If that doesn't work for you check out Tim McGraw & Nelly. With the air waves cluttered with mindless Rap Crap & Hip Hop we true MUSIC lovers have found an alternative that doesn't promote drugs or violence & weapons. I haven't heard of anyone being stabbed or gunned down at a New Country concert!! Have you? I doubt it. By the way you told us what you don't like. How about an update & tell us what you do like. Then we'd have a fair question to answer.

I love Country music, Oldies, Motown, Classic Rock, Blues, etc...

Can't stand Rap or Hip Hop as I don't consider either genre to be music.

I just wish that radio stations wouldn't have corporate america telling us what we should like, they all sound the same anymore, thank God for Xm/Sirius and the internet. FM is dying I think. Not enough personality, it's all the same stuff here in my town. Everyday, the same stuff.

well what is pop music?
that's all anyone sings about and that's all anyone wants to hear about. some b.s. about a broken heart or sleeping around...it's another American condition where people respond to what they relate to and that, in turn, keeps the standards for the type of songs that become popular in a constant downward spiral.

Modern country music sounds like good old white R&B. Motown sounds like good old black R&B. Have you got something against good old R&B ?
