x + 3y + 43 = 1/2 -12x +y
First, put all the X's on one side and every thing else on the other side of the equation.

x + 12x = 1/2 - 43 + y - 3y

Now you can combine like terms.

13X = -87/2 -2y

Now divide everything by 13

X = (-87/2)(1/13) -2/13y
X = -87/26 - 2/13y

x + 3y + 43= 1/2 - 12x + y add 12 x
13x+3y+43=1/2+y subtract 3y+43
13x=-2y-42.5 divide by 13
x=-2y/13-85/26

x + 3y + 43= 1/2 - 12x + y
13x + 3y + 43 = 1/2 + y {add 12x}
13x + 43 = 1/2 - 2y {subtract 3y}
13x = - 42.5 - 2y {subtract 43}
x = -(2y + 42.5)/13 {divide by 13}

x + 3y + 43 = 1/2 - 12x + y

2(x) + 2(3y) + 2(43) = 2(1/2) - 2(12x) + 2(y)

2x + 6y + 86 = 1 - 24x + 2y

2x + 6y + 86 + 24x = 1 - 24x + 2y + 24x

26x + 6y + 86 = 1 + 2y

26x + 6y + 86 - 6y = 1 + 2y - 6y

26x + 86 = 1 - 4y

26x + 86 - 86 = 1 - 4y - 86

26x = - 4y - 85

26x/26 = - 4y/26 - 85 /26

x = - 2y/13 - 85/26
