I get called "Tafffy" and "sheepsh@gger" I just laugh it off!
wot is their problem?

Possibly because the term 'Paki' is generally said in a derogatory way. Whereas, Aussies is more of a friendly expression. PS I think it's quite a good question - you shouldn't get a thumbs down!

Maybe because the Pakistinians don't want us to. The term Aussies seems like a more accepted term even among Australians themselves. Pakis sounds offensive to me honestly.

I think it is ok to call pakis! pakis, I get called paddy all the time and thats not my name? but I don't mind, I have paky friends and they don't mind either, they are pakis.

I think pakis is just an acceptable term that has been made racist through others ignorence.

humour failure here i think, be-ing a taff i`ve been teased by my friends all my life, yes mostly about sheep, : 0 but i`m proud 2 have been born in wales & like being called taff. taffs from wales, pakis from pakistan wheres the problem? apart from they all live in the england so it should be englandastani`s really : )

beacuse of the negative connotations associated with that word. It is used as an insult whereas Aussie isn't. It is used not as an abbreviation but to deliberately cause offence

I don't believe it's offensive, My husband uses it all the time n he is Pakistani. Unless like the "N" word, only those who r the word can use it? I'll hv to ask him, rt now tho he is at work.
