Generally it is safe AS LONG AS the seller has at least 97% feedback with a number greater than 50. And definitely read any negative feedback. This show their reputation.

It's not safe at all. I had a friend that bought a 2004 Ford Mustang. It was in great condition when he saw it. But, when he brought it home to let his mechanic see it. Under the hood was horrible. There were new and old parts, oil was bad and a whole lot of other stuff. Besides they warn people about buying cars off of ebay!

I think it's safe, just nake your that you get stuff in writing. If your close to wear the car is located, maybe you or someone else can go look @ it. See if the seller is willing to offer some sort of warranty, in case something goes wrong you have that to fall back on.

Why would you buy a car without test driving it? Your asking for trouble.

I wouldn't buy a big ticket item off of e-bay unless you could see it first.
