Use the site below to research for a lawyer. Read the tip on how to use the google search on the page. Should be a decent place to start. Also for another tip - when you see an ad you want to click on use your right click and open in a new window. This will let you stay on the main site while looking for different lawyers.

It will cost about 1/2 of everything accumulated during the marriage to divorce, plus legal fees. Lawyers are about $150+/hour. I spent probably close to $5K in legal fees for my divorce. My ex-spent more, and ended up with less than I offered for a no-contest divorce.

It will all depend on how much there is to settle between you. If there are substantial assets, it may cost a few grand in lawyers fees to get it split up and settled. If you and your wife can communicate effectively about who gets what beforehand, you'll get through the whole process a lot easier and faster. If you are in California, check with you county courthouse and see if you can do the initial filing online. It is fast and easy. Good luck.

you don't have to get an attorney
you can probably find all the paperwork you need online
for Colorado it's at www.courts.state.co.us
only reason to get a lawyer is if you have a lot of joint accounts together or a business or something you won't agree about how to split it up
I'd recommend mediation, it's cheaper and you can get an idea of whether you can get through it without a lawyer

My BF had to pay $1,500.00 retainer. That went quickly. It was somewhere in the ball park of $4,000.00-$5,000.00 when it was all said and done. This took a year and there was a custody battle.
