In practice? No.

NO.... OBVIOUSLY a theory that is not intended to establish governmental institutions cannot be a "form" of government (good or bad). Government is the use of power by a select group (administrative body) that creates and enforces laws, and in some way directs resources. Strictly speaking, communism attempts to get away from this.

"GOP = Fascism" has it right. Technically communism is NOT a form of government. That is why the former Soviet Union was called USSR (Union of Soviet SOCIALIST Republics).
Communism as theory is normally linked to the concept of anarchy (or pure democracy) because a communist society has no hierarchical or authoritative body.
So... this means in theory, a communist society has no government.

BTW - Capitalism isn't a form of government either... Hence you can have capitalist anarchists that believe any form of government simply impedes the development and improvement of markets.

Communism works well at the family or clan level, but the larger the group, the more flaws in it. There will always be people at the top who take extra privileges and people at the bottom who make a bare subsistence and people in the middle who do the very least they get away with because they know they'll be paid the same as the guy who is doing more.

It is fine to ensure that everyone, regardless of ability, has health care, basic lodging, and some food, but better health care, better lodging, and better food should depend on performance.

In theory it is a pretty good system. A good example of how it should be run was in the nunnerys of the Roman Catholic church. In reality though man is too competitive and somewhat greedy to carry out communism the way it was suppose to be run. So, as a government to be run by man, it is not a good form of government because it stiffles competition and creativity that is fostered by a system such as capitalism and democracy that advances innovations necessary for mankind to keep on improving and becoming better.

It's not really a form of government, it's an economic system. Unfortunately it has always been coupled with an autocratic form of government, which is undesireable for many reasons. As an economic system, it cannot work in a large impersonal society. It gives little incentive for people to be productive. But in a small society bound by mutual ties of loyalty, communism could work. It says in Acts that the original followers of Jesus were communist.

Absolutely not. Why would people do their best if all they're guaranteed to get is the same as the lazy SOBs that barely skirt by? The mistaken idea that communism takes care of its week and less fortunate is laughable. In a communist society, if you aren't pulling your weight, you disappear for good. So, what do you think is better for the poor, welfare in a capitalist state or death in a communist state?

it is good for the lower class or poor or the majority of people. but it is not good for the rich or corporations that make lots of money.
in theory it is better, and is suppose too work. history has shown it fails. however i think this is mostly due tot he opposistion.
but if you look at cuba, extremely high literacy rate, and free health care. i don't see many draw backs.

if a capitolosist democracy is so much better then how come i can't afford to see a dentist or a doctor while cubans can,

i think your question depends on what your definition of a good government is, if your taling about money and power communisim isn't the best, but if your talking about overall benifit of the people then communsim is much better.
look at the terminologys. what do you think the word communsim immplys and what do you think the word capitolist implys.

Yes, but humans are flawed so it cannot work. Or at least, not on a large scale, the way governments are. It's a great idea; it just won't work with humans.

If you look at all types of government, they all look and sound like a good idea. But the one problem everyone of them has is humans.

No. Their system does not like the individual. It is full of no incentive to achieve. It does not like life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.
