Exactly. His people are afraid that if we leave, the chaos will get worse, it will destabliize the region, and Iraq will become a haven for Al Qaeda. But our presence there is provoking the insurgency that we are trying to prevent! If we leave, it will take a lot of the steam out of it, and the Shiites and the Sunnis can more easily come to some sort of agreement. We should not be Occupiers, and we cannot police their country. They need to do it for themselves, iif at all.

He probably doesn't want them over there any more than we do, but unfortunately he doesn't have the option to make that decition all by himself. It has to go through all the proper channels. The only thing that the president can do without the approval of congress is to vetto a bill. Eveything else has to go through congress, so the next time you hear someone bad mouthing the president, straighten them out and tell them to read a little about politics before they start to put the blame on just one person.

That and to install a government that they don't want anyway, to be a hub for access to all of the Middle East, and to profit off the oil in that country, while playing referee in there civil war to pretend to care about there people while trying to make company like haliburton,KBR, and other american oil companies, money, loads of it. While the only one getting paid any real money over there anyway is the people who work for those corporation anyway.

War is profit. Politicians get big contributions from the defense industries, and they usually have stock in those companies as well. The more war, the higher the stock price and the bigger the contributions get. Absolute moral bankruptcy at its finest.
