I want Mp3 or something better than AU in my java applet i'm programming. Im trying to use QT Java and i have the code and everything but the applet viewer keeps saying is not compatible in Macos Tiger.

You can use the Java Sound API (javax.sound, see http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.5.0/docs/guide/sound/ ). You will need an MP3 provider, for which you can use MP3 SPI for Java Sound, from JavaZoom team (http://www.javazoom.net/mp3spi/mp3spi.html). You could even leverage the same team's code or api from jlGui (http://www.javazoom.net/jlgui/documents.html).

It cannot really be done without having a virtual macintosh program or by getting a hacked illegal version of tiger for x86 (which probably wouldnt be very stable anyhow) If you would pay 100 dollars for tiger, why not just pay 300 dollars for a used mac mini on ebay which would come with the OS too?
