i found a 318 in a junkyard in a winnabagel (sp?) the owner of the junkyard said that it was rebuilt and runs good. he'll offer a gaurantee, but my questions is that i would like to put it in a 1967 sattellite. what would i have to do to put it into the car? should i take the transmission too? is it geared for a car?the price is 500.00

Yes, on the Small block mopars the distributor is in the back of the block. If this came out of an RV I would take the tranny as well. It most likely has and RV shift kit in it as well as the RV Clutch packs. If never mentioned what was in the satellite. did it have the 383 to start with? you shouldn't' need to do much to drop the motor in. You will likely need to get a longer fan shroud for the fan and you may need to make some minor adjustments with the motor mounts. other then that the motor and tranny should drop right in. Depends on what the satellite had in it stock. If its a stock small block car, you should be okay. If it isnt, then youre looking at swapping in new motor mounts. you may want to look at the bolts on the trans as well, just to make sure it will mount up, but Im pretty sure it will. Before I took the trans I would find out what type it is. You'll want either a 727 TorqueFlite, or an A-904 trans. You may also be looking at getting a new drive shaft too, it all depends on what the Satellites stock engine was/is

if it is a chystler moter it should fit in any chystler (as long as it is not frount weel drive) some problems will come frome the moter mounts but you will figure that out. and yoes take the trans.. if it is 500$ you can not beat ti...
