You should wait at least 6 weeks before having sex. After that I wonder why your doctor said you can't go on birth control because most often they prescribe it before you leave the hospital. You all should learn how to properly use a condom.
You should talk to your doctor and he will tell you what to do because you can't get the IUD if you are pregnant and he can tell you whether or the plan b pill will affect your body as you may have to postpone getting the IUD.

Most Dr.s want you to wait 6 weeks before having sex. Your body has just gone thru a lot of dramatic changes in a short amount of time, and it needs time to get back to normal. You could damage something if you have sex too early. The chances of getting pregnant are pretty good if you have sex before the 6 weeks is up. Most women are very fertile for the first 6 weeks, and the cervix is open so sperm can get into the uterus and fertilize an egg.

I would take a plan B pill and go for my insertion of the IUD Friday. Call you Dr and see if maybe they can have it inserted 2morrow instead. The IUD is also a form of Plan B by preventing the fertilized egg from implanting if inserted promptly after unprotected intercourse. So those are the options you have but talk them over with your DR 1st thing 2morrow morning
FYI I was also told 4 weeks and I delivered Vaginally

It is a possibility, but if you are breastfeeding exclusively, the odds are very, very low.
You can have sex within 3 weeks if you feel up to it and if you haven't had stitches or anything worrying. It takes about 3 weeks for your cervix to close up again, so any earlier than that and you risk a uterine infection.
You don't have to wait until your 6 week checkup to have sex... That's an old wives' tale.

The morning after pill can dry up your milk a little if you take it while nursing, and its also passed on to the baby and isnt very safe for him/her.
Chances are its pretty unlikely that you're pregnant. Especially if it was a spermicidal lubed condom (you should always buy those anyway, theyre kinda a last attempt back up incase the condom breaks).
You can call your doctor and ask her advice, thats probably your best bet.

The chances of you being pregnant are more than likely, what you might want to do is find a condom that fits properly - one that is too small would have a tendency to break when compared to one that is too big. The only way to know for sure is to try it, test it, and be certain that it won't fail. You won't get results if you don't try. All the fun is in the trying !

If he havent approved of the plan b pill, its nothing u can do about it but wait and see if ur pregnant again. But maybe u should call ur doctor and tell him/her what happened...dont be nervous or anything to tell him/her cuz they are there to answer any concerns. He'll tell u some other options if they are any, good luck

WOW! People are quick to blast "6 Weeks"... FYI folks..my doctor said wait 2 weeks or when I was comfortable...obviously it is different for everyone.
To you deary;
"Plan B" is an option, personally I would call the doctor and go for his/her advise, it may be that they would recommend the "Plan B" just in case..or they may have other options. Your chances of pregnancy vary so much..it is really hard to say for sure.
Good Luck!

wow. most docs say to stay away from sex for at least 6 weeks after childbirth. you go girl. i would be as sore as man wrassling a hedgehog. if i gave birth to a bowling ball out my anus - there would be no way i let anyone come near that thing for at least a while.
check with your doctor for advice - not sure what the deal is but i am pretty sure you can get pregnant right away.
check with the doc to see what to do.

If you are still breastfeeding you have no need to worry. After pregnancy your body is getting back to its normal way of being. Your body has it's own birth control method because of the hormones you're producing and the fact that you're still breast feeding. We talked about that in our oby/gyn lecture once :)
