I took a pregnancy test the day I was supposed to get my period (First Response Early Result) and it came back negative. I don't feel like I'm getting my period if that makes sense. I've had some other signs of pregnancy. I also didn't use a first morning urine. I pee'd about 40 minutes before I took the test (my husband and I were so excited we couldn't wait). Would that have effected anything? Have any of you got a negative result on the first day they missed their period when they actually were pregnant?

You could very easily still be pregnant. Many women don't test positive until after thier period is late.

Also, if you peed 40 minutes before you took the test (peed again) then the concentration of hCG (pregnancy hormone) was not very high at all. You should test again with first morning urine. Or atleast hold it in for 4 hours before you take the test.

Many women have had better luck with Walmart brand Equate. I know a lot of women who got negatives with First Response and got a positive with Equate.

Good Luck!!

I would take another test in 4-5 days. There may not be hormone that is being detected since you pee'd so close to taking the test. Also, even though First Response does test earlier than most, it's still really early. It you continue to not have your period then test again and then the hormone levels may be detectable. It's hard to tell just by getting symptoms because you can mentally make yourself have symptoms you don't really have. That has happened to me over the last few months because we are trying also. Don't get discouraged though. Good luck I hope the next one comes back positive!!

Often the excitment of being pregnant can give you some symptoms of being pregnant - including a late period. Tests are 93% accurrate the first day of a missed period. Wait 5 days and take another test.

Good luck.

I took a pregnancy test that came out negative 2 days after my missed period (EPT) and then I took the other test a week later, it was positive before I finished peeing. So definitely take another one.

Wait a week and test again. Or go in and insist on blood work.
