I have noticed something. Very often, in film and television, many of the people write left handed.

Is this simply some sort of film practice, as in the director thinks left-handedness just looks better on camera?

Additonally: Maybe the actor is really right handed, but the character he/she is playing is left handed? If this is correct, why does Hollywood write so many left-handed characters?

This has been simply an observation, and nothing more.

left handers are said to be more creative, so there is probably a higher % of actors who are leftys than in other professions. but i wouldnt say i see it all the time in movies, just sometimes

this may be an effect of the camera reversing images (like in a mirror) or there may acctually be more left handed people in hollywood since right or left handedness is determined by the dominant side of your brain. If the logic side dominates you are right handed if the creative side you are left handed.

I have noticed this especially in commercials where people are eating and in certain television shows. I was wondering if it was due to reversal of film, similar to reading an MRI.

Wow I never realized that...or could it be that they really are right handed and since your facing them, their right seems like their left? Maybe I'm wrong I'll pay more attention next time

I haven't noticed much of that, but, a very good explanation would be that most scenes are shot one way, and placed on film in another. (They're flip-flopped.) You see this alot.

it's like a mirror image when they put the picture up so it just looks like they are a lefty but they're not.
