By apologizing. That is of course if you share part of the responsibility for the argument to begin with. Sex never solves anything and the people who say this is what you should do know nothing. Sex is not to be used as a form of apology or attonement. in doing so you bastardize it's true expression of love and it becomes nothing more than a method to smooth things over and not meant as an expression of love and affection.
An apology and then carrying on normally as before will suffice.

I see alot of people saying have sex to make up. I don't recomend that. What someone else said appologize for the fight and acknowledge that you were listening to him, and acknowledge that you both have a difference of opinions.
Don't use sex as a way of making up, because if you do that alot, he is going to expect that whenever you want to make up from a fight that your going to give him sex all the time in that situation.

First, tell him you were wrong for fighting.
Yes, you heard me right, apologize.
Recap his points. You don't have to agree, but you can demonstrate you are listening and that you respect that he holds a different position on the subject. Again, you may not agree, but you can respect that he sees it differently than you. It's not a you are right he is wrong, or vice-versa, it's a difference of opinion.
Then, see if there is anyway that you can demonstrate that you would rather be lovers, not fighters.

Do something that he really likes. Like cook his favorite meal or buy a special tool that he has his eye on. I actually clean out my car. My hubby can't stand it when it's dirty. Or do something that he normally does, like take the garbage out.
