My boyfriend and I were talking about the holiday's. I know the holiday's are hard for him now because this past April he lost him Mother. I know his the feeling, I lost a child 3 yrs ago, so I know the feeling of not having a loved one around and I want to respect his wishes on this but I'm having a hard time doing what he ask. His family has decided not to do Holiday's this year in memory of there mom. That means there not buying gifts for each other or for anyone else. Well he said that he is going to do this but he would like to buy me something but would like for me not to buy him anything. He said it would just be to hard. So what do I do? I had already started on making him this blanket. Do i just go ahead and give him that and nothing else? Or should I buy him something small but special? Or just do what he ask? Any thoughts would be good.

Thanks!

The blanket is cool to give him. Don't consider it a Christmas gift. Consider it something you give him because you care about him.

get him something small but special...

i lost my mom several years ago, the holidays continue and so does the memories of the loved one lost...
it could be a good time for everyone to get closer and be thankful for the person they all knew and be thankful for still having each other.

ok.. when my father past away.. we all thought of that.. but then we realized since he loved the holidays so much we would celebrate it like always.. it was so hard for me.. and for his wife... and mostly for everybody... we tried ti remmeber him the best way we could, of course with tears on our eyes and sobbing all around.. it wasnt the best holidays... if he doesnt want a present maybe you should respect his feeling.. but if you really want one.. just tell him.. think that its not from me and its from your mother.. if she really liked the holidays maybe you can tell him. you mother never wouldnt want for you not to have a christmas present.. good luck.. and I know its hard

Ok lets try this, if he doesn't want any gift during the xmas then wait and present the gift as belated. good luck.
