No Michigan lost to Ohio State they had their shot. I for one don't want to see a rematch. I would rather see USC vs OSU. They should have there shot at beating OSU. Since Michigan had lost the first time.

Can everyone please stop looking at one game and look at the entire schedule? It's a 12 game slate for a reason.

Even if you don't believe in the rematch or no rematch idea, USC has a better resume than Michigan. The Trojans have only played 2 teams with losing records this year (Washington and Stanford) and played no one out of conference who was not either in a BCS conference or had the luck to be Notre Dame. Indeed, the two other non-conference teams they played will both be playing for BCS berths in conference championship games this weekend (Arkansas and Nebraska).

Michigan has played 5 teams with losing records this season (Indiana, Northwestern, Michigan State, Ball State, and Vanderbilt) and played 2 games out-of-conference against MAC schools. Even the school in a BCS conference that they did play is horrid (Vanderbilt).

And you can't make the argument that the Big Ten is much better than the Pac Ten. It's better at the top because there are three good teams at the top (and I'd even make the argument that Wisconsin isn't that good, as they really didn't play anybody this year) but the Pac Ten is stronger in the middle, and has fewer "bad" teams than the Big Ten does (Illinois, Northwestern, Indiana, MSU, Minnesota, and even Iowa were awful this year).

Sorry, but it is and should be USC. The rematch argument is a smoke screen - the Trojans are the better team. Period.

Michigan and Ohio State are the best teams in college football period. Michigan would walk all over USC. They would put so much pressure On 1st year starter John David Booty it isnt even funny. Woodley and Branch and company wont even let him breathe. USC Has an outstanding reciever in Dwayne Jarrett and a couple of so so backs and a good defense, that would be exploited by Michigans powerful offensive line and explosive wide recievers not to mention Mike Hart one of the best backs in the country. This isnt the same Lienhart, Bush, Jarrett, Willams/ steller defensive team that dismantled the Wolverines a few years ago. They are soft. They almost lost to Washigton, Arizona State and Wash State. Three teams that have 18 combined losses.
THEY LOST TO OREGON STATE WHO WAS UNRANKED AT THE TIME. now ranked 24th thanks to there 8 win season and win over USC.
The real score of the notre dame game should have been 37-24. Notre Dame's kicker kicked the worst onside kick in maybe the history of college football and made it look like even more of a blowout. Usc also turned the ball over 4 times. Notre Dame's recievers somehow couldnt hold on ot the ball otherwise it would have been closer. Michigan dismantled Notre Dame. They made them look like a mac team. they also have a two touchdown win over #7 Wisconsin.
USC does have a huge win over Arkansas at the beginnning of the year. The margin of victory would not have been near as great had Mcfadden played. The only slip by Michigan is when they put their second team offense and defense in against Ball St. and almost gave the game away. Michigan lost to the #1 team in the country by 3 points. Ohio state had only given up 78 points all year, and Michigan scored almost half that much(39) in one game at the (Shoe.)
Had the game been played in Ann Arbor without a doubt Michigan would be playing for the national championship.
You know what is sad the Big Ten is better than the Pac Ten this year. Its just too bad the only way we will see this manifest is when Ohio State destroys USC.
Im predicting by atleast two touchdowns.
The computers need some fine tuning and the human polls need to get their heads examined. Bottom line Michigan is gettting screwed. If the game between Ucla and Usc is not a blow out, this would be another 6 loss team Usc had another close call against. They need to embarrass Ucla or they should drop.
They shouldnt be where they are anyway, but definetly not with another squeeker win on the schedule. As for Florida playing for the national title they still need to win the SEC championship game. The bottom line is Michigan didnt struggle against anyone in the Big Ten. Usc struggled against three week teams in the Pac Ten. We dominated Vandy, and Michigan State so dont even bring them up.

Michigan's one loss was to the number one team. USC had a loss to Oregon State, which is an 8-4 team that is not in the top 25. Therefore, USC should not have a higher ranking.

BTW, I am not a fan of Michigan, USC, Oregon State, or Ohio State. It is just a matter of simple fairness.

In a playoff scenario it would have come down to these three LSU - USC & Florida. CFB fans are so brainwashed that they fail to see that in real playoffs like the Superbowl the divisons each play each other and winners advance on. Their are a couple wild cards which one would have been LSU this year. Then they play it out on the field. The best record team wins sometime and sometime it is the wild card like Pittsburgh last year. This year USC and LSU would have advanced on and Ohio State would have been a first round bust. But in college they skip the whole process and it becomes a beauty paegant more than a championship.

Ohio State & Michigan are the best two teams in college football.
Michigan lost by 3 in Ohio State. that was a great game... and I'd love to see a rematch on neutral ground. USC is a good team also, but they did lose to Oregon State, now ranked 24th. Michigan's only loss was to the #1 team.

Just because they've already played doesn't mean Michigan shouldn't get rematch, but... unless USC Loses, it probably will not happen...

Did Mohammad Ali deserve a rematch when he lost to Joe Frazier in their first bout? I think so... it turned into 3 of the best matches in boxing history... so why wouldn't we want to see another great football game between the 2 best teams in college football?

USC Beat #9 Arkansas, #10 Notre Dame and #18 Cal but lot to #24 Oregon State
Michigan Beat #7 Wisconsin #10 Notre Dame and lost by 3 to #1 Ohio State...

YES michigan should get to play in the national championships. their only lose came to the number 1 ranked team and they lost at OSU. and Ohio only beat them by 3 points at home. Now it was a great game, and i know they got their chance but dont you think michigan would be ranked number one in the country if they played at michagan.

i say let them play again on neutral ground, and usc lost to an unranked team at the time, michigan lost came to the ohio.

Michigan derseves another shot

michigan had their chance and failed. it was close, but they didn't get the win.

yes, michigan would have beat ohio state if they played at ann arbor, but they didn't play at ann arbor. that's just how it worked.

plus, it wouldn't be fair to ohio state to have to beat them again. now if michigan beats them 2 out of 3, then maybe we have something. but that's not gonna happen either.

USC's loss was a while back, but now they are playing like they deserve to be up there. they smoked the high-powered offenses of oregon, cal and notre dame three weeks in a row.

a team's ranking and whether they deserve a title shot does not simply rest in who a team lost to. if that were the case, boise state should be playing ohio state for the national championship.

now is that right?
