What you're describing sounds like you craked a head gasket. The price can be around 1200 dollars. But you are also at a risk of it being more than just a gasket. Sometimes, you find that the head cracked or warped as well. Its a 1998 and it may still be worth it to at least get it torn down and diagnosed properly.

Everywhere that two pieces of metal bolt together in your Mustang, there is a gasket. It would help tremendously if you would tell us which gasket is broken and a bit more detail. What happened, what did the vehicle do, why do you think a gasket is broken, that type of things. We don't know if you're talking head gasket or oil pan gasket here.

Sounds like the head gasket. Depending on the damage done (chances are more damage has been done than just the head gasket) repairs can range from $600 - $1200. Hope this helps.
