You are insulting them and implying that you are their master at the same time. Coming from a white man, it represents their feeling of being oppressed and. It also embodies the hatred for them by the man.

I know Hispanics and whites that call each other ****** and they talk like it, too. I, personally, don't use this word, 'cause it sounds low-class. If it's meant to offend, then it's derogatory. If anyone had a little bit of intelligence, they should know that a Niger is someone from Nigeria. There's a reference to this in the movie "Malcolm X" with Denzel Washington. It is a double standard, though. Why should it matter if the person that's using it is black, white or a brown? Isn't this a contradiction? Some people just have an enormous complex. Get over it!

Why do women get upset when you calling them b*tches why do gays get upset when you call them ******. These are names that are meant to demean an entire group of people based solely on their gender, race or sexual orientation. It's not right to disrespect a whole group of people by calling them a name that is associated with being ignorant, dirty and stupid based off their skin color. Every individual is different and should be treated as an individual not a color.

there is no straight answer to this question, i would say in most part do to the fact that black ppl call themselves these derogatory names;if you cant even stop your own culture from berating its self how are you supposed to contain what other cultures call you since they hear you calling each other that they may think its appropriate and think hey lets laugh about it, if black people go around shouting down streets ****** a term most cultures stray away from you would think its OK and start saying it yourself in honest ignorance i say they have no reason to be mad because what makes lil'd saying ***** and Luke not, because Luke is white and lil'd black ,please! if you can say it i can say it and if you don't want me to say it why don't we all stop using it especially since we know how and why the term was derived, besides why would you call your fellow black man a term for a slave, thats not very nice and is plain ignorant and rude.

Why shouldn´t they. We all know that in all languages you have words that offend people, why use them. They have a right to get up tight. What are you? How would you like to be called?

Who cares if they get upset. Most black people use the word on a daily basis. If they don’t want to be called n igger, stop using it all the time. You don’t see white people going around calling themselves cracker and Asian people calling themselves chink. F uck them all!

We only get upset when any other race..especially whites use that term to refer to us because it's just out of their place. When whites use it it's like they're stepping out of their place...they're crossing the line! When we use it around each other we use it in another day.
