i wouldn't i would actually wait a couple weeks before visiting it gives the new parents time to bond with the baby and make sure to call ahead before visiting

Which flu shot batch did you get, and which part of the country? You may want to ask the doctor, nurse or clinic that did the flu shot about which mix they gave you. Some of the current mixes are tyring to begin protection against bird flu and some other really nasty strains, so you may actually come down with a mild case of the flu. You should be able to see the baby, but I would wear a mask and gloves if you are going to hold the baby.

Sure, even though it is an active virus it is not contagious. If in doubt or for your own peace of mind, wear a mask.
