replacing the belt is not a problem and the coust is about 10 to 30 $
the main problem is it is a frount weeel drive and getting your hand
(if there as big as mine, dubble wapper with cheese and it is still small) in there to lousen the bolts....

Go to a shop and pay for it, this is the best bet and if they can inspect the rest of the car at the same time you can not go bad...

Don't know this engine but in general the belt is only a few quid (UK) and fitting it is a matter of minutes, providing you've some spanners and long, thin arms. I should just ring a few garages and ask 'em. You may well be right, if it's a sort of squeal it's usually 'cos the generator's working hard to put back the battery charge you used in starting and the belt's worn and slipping under the load.
Good luck.
