Most biodegrable waste is thrown overboard. There is very little regulation in the cruise ship industry (notice that most ships are registered in the Bahamas and Liberia).

actually ive been told that the good food that can still be eaten is fed to the marine life. Heck if you were a shark wouldnt you like a nice half eaten chicken? lol
Im serious, most food is put in the ocean, not the garbage of course.

it is ground up by REALLY BIG dispos-alls, called macerator pumps, mixed in with the stuff that goes down the drains from the toilets and showers and sinks, and then pumped overboard at night
