because these types of businesses typicall stay open from tuesday thru saturday since the weekend is their busiest time. In which case, they give employees two days off by closing n monday, which traditionally, is not a big retail spending day......

i've seen barber and beauty shop open on sundays...the most around my area opens on weekends. They close on monday because thats when there is one of the days with the least amount of people going to get a cut or get their nails done, as its the start of the week most people are busy with work. Weekends are the busiest since its ppl's day off, so they don't close on those days.

I don't know any barbers myself, but I would imagine that Mondays are the days when nobody wants haircuts anyway, so why stay open?
