You cannot notarize documents for anything for which you have an interest - i.e. for friends or family, anything where you stand to gain, etc.

No ! they can't. Reason is very simple. Notarization is nothing but evidencing execution of the document. If they notarize their own document, it imply that they are evidencing their own act - which is an absurdity under law.

No they cannot. They have to get another notary to notarize something for them.
