Hi I have to take the RH factor shot too. Actually I'm getting mine this friday. Don't worry cause the doctors don't give it to you until 27 weeks pregnant. i'm 32 weeks pregnant and they had to check my blood for the antibodies, then like i said i get the shot this week. so don't worry about it, u have plenty of time to get your shot. Good luck!

The RH shot is usually given later in pregnancy, so you should be okay depending on what happened in your other pregnancies.

You say this is your third pregnancy. Were the other two children born okay? Were they negative or positive?

If already have an RH+ child, you should have been given an RH shot after delivery. If you did not, then you should see a doctor because you may have problems. The RH shot would have been given within 24 hours of delivery.

If your previous kids were negative, or you got the shot, then you should be okay.

The deal with the RH shot is that it prevents the body from recognizing a baby with RH + blood as an invader and attacking it.

During a first pregnancy the body doesn't decide to attack the RH+ source until pretty late, so it is okay to wait.

If you had a RH+ kid and no shot after delivery the body may already be primed to go after the source of the RH+ in your body which is why you should see a doctor.

Best wishes!

You usually don't get the Rh-factor shot until you are around 28 weeks, unless you are hospitalized for some reason.

With my first pregnancy I got the shot 3-4 times since I was in and out of the hospital for various reasons. I'm on my second pregnancy now, 12 weeks along and haven't had one yet.

Luckily I did the shot since I have negative blood type and my son had positive.

You only need that shot if your blood type is RH negative. Hope that helps.

I am also rh- and according to my doctor they don't give it to you until 28 weeks. Also for some reason if you don't get insurance I know mine only cost 150.00 so it isn't too bad. Good Luck hope this helps.

Did you need Rh factor treatment to maintain your other pregnancies with the same man?

Unless both you and your partnet have rh issues then you dont need treatment.

If you do need treatment then you should probably call your doctor and let him know you're pregnant so you can get the treatment you need. Especially if your Rh factor has caused you to miscarry previous pregnancies.

They won't administer the shot until you're atleast 28 weeks, so I wouldn't worry. You have more than enough time. Good Luck!!
