"before all the teenagers scream blue murder" you shouldn't assume that all teenagers are into that manufactured crap! I feel like puking at the idea that someone would just assume that because I'm 15 and female that I would instantly like that ****! Westlife repulse me and my torture chamber is waiting for them. and all the rest of that bloody rubbish as well. so shut your face and stop steryotyping people, you ******* asshole.
but yes I must agree the idea that they top the charts time after time is utter madness and they really should be stopped.

I lost faith long ago. The charts aren't really a representation of good music, just music which people like.
You have to remember Westlife will have a MASSIVE fanbase. From young girls through to old women (okay I may be generalising but I'm probably right in thinking Westlife have many more female fans than male).
You can't even call Westlife a band. A band play their own instruments, Westlife are a group. And not a very good one at that.

Yeah, I am! I mean, true talented British pop stars are not getting credit when credit is due in the UK Album Charts. They are so filled with bands singing back old songs and never write any songs of their own. Most of all, the albums in the no.1 spot today are lacking of quality.

i never had any faith in it....the charts have declined and declined the fact that Nirvana the greatest band of the 90's only made it to number 9 or something with the "anthem of a generation" teen spirit prove how idiotic the record buying public are..the fact the smiths never had a number one single is also an incredible crime

I lost faith about 1982 and I was only 12 then! There used to be an Independent chart, but I don't know where you'd find it these days.

completely.
Album or singles.
the business is controlled by a few who control the acts - thus we get a succession of manufactured "bands" - boyzone, girls aloud etc & yes, they are totally awful.
These people now control the programmes we watch it would seem & sadly the population do tune in, it is very depressing. X factor is popular even though it is diabolical.
I was in Cyprus in the summer & saw an act in Paphos that was brilliant but most people would never have heard of him so I won't mention his name.
Shame on all those who have ruined the music industry through their greed & selfishness and double so for exploiting the children who buy the rubbish they promote.

It reflects what people are buying. I've lost faith in people to buy decent records, not the album chart for showing us how appalling their taste in music is.
