Get some peppermints, the round kind. You will need a bottle for this or some type of medicine dropper. get 4-6 ounces of water, put on stove and add about 3 peppermints. Simmer until the peppermints are completely disolved. Let it cool and then either give it to the baby in a bottle or use a medicine dropper to get it in. This is what we did for my friend's baby when she had this problem, worked wonders and made her sleepy.

Hylands Colic Tablets (see example at: http://www.herbsmd.com/shop/productdetail.asp?pid=4363) or chamomile tea warm in a bottle or from a spoon (OK as long as you are not allergic to ragweed). A warm cloth on the tummy, try vacuuming when the baby cries the hum and light vibration seem to work on some. Try a bouncy chair the kind that rock when baby moves to help comfort baby and give your arms a rest. Walk baby in the stroller or take for a drive in the car. If baby is formula fed see if switching to low iron helps - it's OK to change a baby's formula some babies do better with some formulas than others my first could only drink Carnation or she had lots of tears and threw up. The good news is that colic rarely lasts beyond 6mos - hang in there.

I think that it can be soo much worse my daughter is 11 months and she still has bouts of colic. I will tell you there is really nothing that is the magic pill to get rid of it but with time. I have mine on a formula for colic ( Nutramigen by enfamil) it is pricey ( 23-24 a can ) but well worth it. If it is too high then I would suggest Good Start with comfort proteins. I would also talk to your doc. about levson drops ( they are powerful gas relief ) that is what causes colic. I would try those 2 thing before you go and bother the doc again
Good Luck with it I know how hard it is!!!

O...I feel sorry for you lol...My baby bro. (currently 6 months old) had colic SOOO bad...(he was a premiee)....and that baby would cry and cry and scream and cry and his stomach was always sooo upset, he would spit up and cry and o lord..it was miserable..They do grow out of it tho..and no the docs cant help...its just an immature nervous system...side effects include upset tummy and severe crying. Most of the time all they want is momma..so what my mom and step dad did...was took one of my moms shirts that were clean that she had actually worn for a lil bit and if my mom was busy and couldnt hold him or just needed a break...they would wrap him up in her shirt and it wouldnt stop the cryin..but it did help...as far as the upset tummy thing...baby tylenol the liquid can either help or make the spit up a lot worse..afraid there is no way to tell how it will effect your baby til you try it....also if you can get your baby into a routine as much as possible...that does help quite a bit...such as...he or she gets fed at a certain time, sleeps at a certain time..is up for a certain time and every night at a certain time you give them a bath....bathing seemed to really soothe my lil brother....and for you and your boyfriend or husband...take turns...it is very frusturating so dont feel bad if you just need to get away...good luck

When my daughter cries alot it's either she has to burp or is trying to go poopy. So I try to burp her by sitting her up and she almost immediately burps or if she's been crying for a while I take a thermometer and dip it in vaseline and put it in her anus for about 30 seconds, twirling it at the same time. This causes passing of gas or a bowel movement. It sounds crazy but a nurse recommended it to me for my first and I do it every 3-4 days with my second and it helps. Don't over do it though.

I have heard that Gripe Water works good for Colic. Also put a dry cloth in the microwave for about 1 minute and place it on baby's tummy over her onsie. This helps soothe them.

my baby is sensitive to the amount of dairy I eat and drink. so I limit them and take 2-3 acidophilus pills with them. After a few days of doing this her 2 hour crying spells ended but if I forget to take them it starts again.
Also maybe it's silent acid reflux. It can be painful but with out spitting up. talk to the dr about this, zantac can help. This site has some great info.

Something in your milk might be upsetting the baby's tummy. I second the limiting of dairy, cut things out that seems to be upsetting. If you can't find anything contact a lactation consultant, they might have some answers that we would not have. Good Luck.
