Me and my fiance are having a bit of trouble. We are having a baby boy in February and can't seem to find the right name for him. We both fell in love with the name Jaylen, but every time we tell someone his name, they shake their head! Everyone says it sounds like a girls name and that our son will be teased when he gets older because of his name. Please help us!

My little 6 month old BOY is named JALEN..yes..same name spelled different.. we loved the name as well so we used it. It was the only name we could agree on. My 13 year old cousin who is a BOY also sports the name. . I have seen both boys and girls with the name, more so BOYS now than girls. We call him Jay Jay for short and I think Jaylen is a adorable name for a boy. Our son is Jalen Bernard. When he makes it in the corporate world or he needs to sound more "professional" he can be called J.B.. Just give him a good strong middle name. I am sure we as parents have every good intention in the world for our children and would never put anything on them that would give them a hard time in life. I never thought of my child being teased because of his name so neither should you. If you like it use it. i know umpteenth number of parents here in Texas who have. congratulations !!!

I don't know. To me it sounds like a boy's name. I know of a 12 year old boy with the name as well as a 4 year old girl with the name. I considered using the name Jayden for my boy last year until I heard it was being used on GIRLS. I would use the name if you like it, or perhaps use it as a middle name. Good luck.

i think of the call Jaylen is sooo amazing. i like it. confident its a boys call. he won't get teased i be attentive to a guy with that call and he has on no account been teased for it. it is spelled incredibly some different techniques too. Jaelin Jaelin Jaylin stay far off from jay-LYNN because of the fact its might look female. besides the fact that it isnt. i additionally like the call Jayden. i think of its amazing too. and in case you're nonetheless worrying with regard to the call Jaylen you may constantly circulate with Jayden. its fairly cool boys call. yet i think of Jaylen is pefectly high quality for a boy. i wouldnt call a woman jaylen or think of it as a females call. circulate with what you like the terrific.,in the adventure that your acquaintances dont like it then too undesirable, its no longer their infant its yours so chosen what like. and sturdy luck!

Ask yourself this question: what determines the gender of a name? Does the name have genitals? No. There is nothing inherently male or female about a name, much like there is nothing male or female about clothing. There are plenty of girls named Taylor, which used to be only a boy's name. Likewise, Ashley and Marion used to be only for boys. And Christian used to be a girl's name. Don't let society tell you what you can and cannot name your child!

I'm sorry, but honestly I do think it sounds a bit feminine. My daughter's name is Jaylea, that may sway me a bit LOL, but in all honesty I don think it's too feminine to be a boys name. Maybe you could try Jayden (I'm sure you've already thought of that anyway, but hey I tried :)

Good luck :) and don't let anyone get you down, if that's what you really like you should go for it. Follow your heart

Sounds girlie. It may be a unisex name, but it does lean towards the female sex! If the two of you love it, then choose it. Your son will be teased a little though at least. And expect him to have to correct the pronunciation of his name for the rest of his life!!
It's a cute name, but in my opinion I'd pick something a little harder to make fun of. Kids are cruel....Good Luck!

My son's friend's name is Jalen. I think it's a perfect name and one that you both like. Who cares what other people say and he's not going to be teased about it. Tell them to mind their own business and go with that name. It's a great name!!

Who Cares what other people think. If you both like the name then use it. Kids get teased and made fun of for everything. It just isn't about names any more. So go for it. I LIKE IT!!!!
