after he gets out of the military, we will have the 'big choice': Where should we move to? Since my family lives overseas, and his family is spread out all over the US, we really aren't attached to any state or city.
Any suggestions?

important to us is:
- moderate climate (no humidity)
- some snow so he can ride his snow mobile
(- good job opportunities in the field of bio science/research)
- low crime rate and good schools for the kids (coming later)
- big city nearby

Minneapolis, Minnesota. Yep, I know what your thinking, cold, very cold. lol. Job opportunities are fantastic. Live in one of the suburbs you will find great schools. Summers are beautiful, comparable to summers in Germany and England. Crime rate is low. Minneapolis and St Paul are large cities. Housing is still reasonable and the people are nice. If your husband likes snow mobiling he probably likes other outdoor winter sports. My husband is military and we are getting ready to retire. We own a house in Northwest Florida, but the job opportunities suck and housing is sky rocketing (expect around $250,000 for a 1700 square foot home) We have family in both places and I'm hoping to make the move north soon. Good luck and thank your husband for serving. Check out the websites for Minnesota!

South Carolina and Georgia would be my recommendations. Go to the Chamber of commerce online for info on each area you are interested in. They have a wealth of information and can direct you to all the data you need.

I would look into Panama City , florida, just got ranked #1 place to buy a home. Northwest Florida is great weather, new jobs, cheap homes, awesome beaches. What more do you need?

Good Luck
