All I want to do is turn my ordinary battery operated candles I put in the window for the holidays into a sensored light. Can this be done? I saw some online for $75.00 but I can't afford that! Is this possible? Thanks!

It would require yu to take the light fixture apart to install the light sensor. A lot of work. Best thing to do is buy the light with the sensor already in the light

Buy a timer for $5.
Set the timer.Plug the candle cord into the timer. The candles will come on and shut off at whatever time you set them as long as you set the timer to the current time. Same principle is used when you go on vacation with the interior light. It will give the appearance of someone being home

Battery operated? that's a new one. I would have thought that the batteries will not last more than a couple of days, even if it has LEDS. Solar ones don't work that well at this time of year. I just looked at the focus diy website (as suggested), no such tthing comes up

certainly you can. The most cost effective circuit can be designed by using a LDR (Light dependant resistance) and set the conditions when you want the light to be on and off. Take assistance of a electrical/electronics engineer or send me the details and I can design it in my free time. Best thing you can do is search in hobby electronic circuits and you can easily find one which suits your needs..........................................All the best.
