whatt. zombie is someone who has been tapped of life rendered not able to command life by a other. silver cord im not sure sounds like life light source of soul. spirit. zombies do not have a chord of life they have been robbed of soul.

it could be to do with the "greek" myth about the string of destiny or fate (it refered to in macbeth to) that is tied to you little finger and controls your fate so would effect your life if cut your die. It could be that zombies are people who have damaged their fate string and so are dead but still have a fate or destiny to finsh.
