Some Trivia: Gibson was the name of the little boy on the
X-Files that had a knack for knowing about the Aliens.
Taylor would be another guitar name. Taylor makes excellent high end acoustic acoustic/electic guitars.

Well, I guess it's better than naming your baby Clorox or Colgate. Also, the name Gibson also has a meaning besides the guitar manufacturer see below:
The boy's name Gibson is of Old English origin, and its meaning is "son of Gilbert." Actor Mel Gibson.
Gibson has 7 variant forms: Gibb, Gibbes, Gibby, Gibbons, Gibbs, Gillson and Gilson.
He will probably end up being called Gib or Gibs for short. So please make sure you are okay with that first.
This name is also unique in that it does not rank in the top 1000's from the Social Security Administration.
You know what? The more I think about it, the more I like it. Good Luck and Congratulations!

Gibson reminds me of an old Detroit Tiger player. I think people would end up calling your son Gibby. And personally I dont like that nickname. Maybe use it as a middle name
Tyler Gibson
Jacob Gibson
Jason Gibson
etc

To me it's a last name and if you son grows up to be a doctor people will have a hard time remembering his name. Is it Dr. Gibson or Dr. Your last name.

Hate to tell you but Gibson is a last name.
Be prepared for kids to tease him with nicknames like gibs, gibby, and maybe even gibbon
