I only wish I knew of one. Seems like the only way you can ever find out is to sign up with one, but you have to hand over a bunch of money first, and then it's too late because you aren't gonna get any refund LOL> I got tempted to investigate one I got an e-mail about, asking for people with good writing skills, to help with the composition of those online sales pitches that lure others to buy some kind of book, or sign up for a subscription to a course for something. You aren't having to sell anything yourself, or get caught up in the expense of making phone calls, or packing and shipping merchandise etc.etc. Evidently you just sit there, and tap tap tap away, composing something that may attract people to sign up for somebody else's product, and that "somebody" pays you for your services based on how successful your presentation has been in producing sales results. Only problem there is that while YOU can't be legally held accountable for anything that isn't exactly copacetic, you are still morally part of the scam if it happens to be one --- and I think you also have to buy their course that instructs you how to design and type up your presentation pitch on their behalf.
Only thing I can think of as a way to find out about a truly 100% genuine one would be through the Better Business Bureau, who, perhaps, could either help you themselves, or direct you to somebody who could.

Yes! It is so difficult to find, because of all the scam out there. Go to www.cjfj.net
It is an index for legitimate work from home and none of the listed jobs charges any fees. In case you can't find anything right away, the website is quite new and updated daily!

You might want to look into some on-line medical transcription schooling. I don't know which ones have accreditation, but those would be the ones you want to check into. For one, they have financial aid available and some award Pell grants. For someone on disability benefits, a Pell grant is something you would be eligible for. I believe they have accredited on-line medical coding and billing courses, also. These jobs, all done from a computer, can be done at home. It would take you some time to learn the skills needed for any of these jobs, but they are legit. There is also something else called, Scopist. This is an assistant to a court reporter (stenographer) who is responsible for reading their notes, typing them out, editing & proofing, and composing the final copy. You might be responsible for one or all of the above duties. It would all depend on the reporter you were working for & exactly what she needed from you. There are also schools on-line for this. Once again, you need to find schools with accreditation. If you are the least bit interested in any of these things, you should go seek out a site for these careers. There are several with chat lines & you may be able to talk to people who have taken on-line courses or just simply go check out some of the on-line schools and E-mail them with questions.
