The only way to completely clear a history from most technology is to delete the entire hard drive and start over.

Now, with the government's technology, I believe that even after you do this, they are able to retrieve any information they need. I would advise to not try and mess with the government.

But if you are only trying to fool your parents, etc, this should suffice. Unless they are computer experts, they will not be able to know where you have gone on the internet. However, they will be able to tell that you have erased the hard drive.

Good luck...I think you might really need it.

Depends if you have any other software running on your computer that might keep a history of them, such as spyware or some internet filtering software. Internet histories are also stored on some routers and modems. You'll have to consult your hardware manuals to get rid of the histories here.
