Probably a behavioral problem.....unless you believe sexual predators and child rapists are born with their condition......We have grown up with so much sexual stimulation around us it is easy to believe it is genetic...remember people have been homosexual for years hence the term sodomy from Sodom and Gomorah, those cities had so much revelry and nastyness that God destroyed them

It has been demonstrated that there is a particular form of a gene which is more common in homosexual men. This leads to the theory that homosexuality is at least IN PART a genetically driven characteristic. A genetic variation leading to homosexuality can easily be passed on if it is a "double recessive" gene - in other words both the mother and father have one copy of the gene but neither is expressed except in any of their offspring which inherit one copy from each parent (a 1-in-4 chance).
It is highly unlikely that homosexuality is entirely genetically-based - the situation is likely to be far more complex than a simple "genetic switch".
Homosexuality may well also include a behavioural element ("problem" is the wrong word as it is far too emotive and subjective) which in different people may have been influenced by a variety of factors such environment, upbringing, early sexual experiences and other factors. It is a lifestyle choice based on many different things which are to some extent or another beyond a person's conscious control. To say that someone just "chooses" to be homosexual would be wrong... a 100% heterosexual person cannot "choose" to become homosexual (even if they could be persuaded to "act" like a homosexual), there is something more deep-rooted and fundamental going on.

I do not believe it is genetic or a behavioral problem,,being a mother of a gay son i saw him from a real early age his thoughts and actions i believe came from his birth ,i have been told from Dr,and i have also read a lot of books ,and i think Homosexuality comes from Birth, their is a chemical planted in the brain that comes from the mother over powering the hormones from the father
Alcoholism in genetic, Babies are born on drugs ,because of the use of drugs from mothers,so why can't over active hormones in mothers cause Homosexuals ,It will !!!! I know it says in the Bible ,no sex between the same sex, It also says No sex out side of a marriage,it happens all the time But you don't here no Christian's complaining about that .Whats the difference,,

Genetic condition maybe, problem no. Short/tall, fat/skinny, black, white, yellow, red, pink or pasty. Blond, brunet, red, grey or white. All of these are genetic so I guess you could say yes, homosexuality is genetic. After all you can not choose your genes and how you turn out because of them. You can go on a diet, die your hair and get a tan, bigger boobs and a straighter/smaller nose. These are after all just ornamental and don’t change the person inside. Like getting ground effects for your car. When it is all over it is still a car.
Who you are on the inside is a combination of things. Genes, upbringing, surroundings and your soul. If a priest takes a vow of celibacy, it doesn’t make him gay because he chose not to have sex with women. If a grown man has sex only with preteen boys, it doesn’t mean he is gay. He is a child predator and needs to be taken out of society. Two consenting adults find that they are in love and want to get married should be able to, no matter what their sex is. Homosexuality is not a deviant practice and does not lead to deviant practices. It is not a stepping stone to child molesting, bestiality, necrophilia or what ever sick thing you could come up with. Just like, pot is not a stepping stone to meth. If a person has an addictive personality or is predestined to be easily addicted, if they chose not to partake they will never become addicted to drugs. But, if they use any, it starts. Caffeine, nicotine, alcohol, sex, THC, opiates, etc. If they are easily addicted no matter were they start they will shoot to the top of the list trying to get that longer, higher, high.
Sorry to get off the subject. For though of you who say , “ The bible says homosexuality is wrong.” As if that is an answer. The bible also said don’t eat pork, have multiple wives, slavery is ok and if you think some one stole from you it ok to cut their hand off. Look, the bible was written by man and if you think man wrote it threw divine inspiration, then I might buy that if there is still that first bible lying around and it states that homosexuality is wrong. Or, not the first bible but the first manuscript or book of the bible that states it is wrong. Only the first divinely written book. Everything else has been changed and rewritten, and poorly translated an ungodly amount of times. And not only by professional scribes or holy men of the clothe, but some times by the only person in the village that knew how to write. In some cases they didn’t even know how to read, just copied what they saw and often omitted a word here or there or even a whole line or two. Most people who say the bible said it was wrong, don’t even know were in the bible it says that. And toughs few who can find it, site only new bibles. I bet if it does say that you will only find it in bibles printed in the last 50 to 75 years and not in some of the most renowned old bibles from Ethiopia, Alexandria, Greece or Rome.
Homosexuality is not a problem, choice or wrong.

Is being straight a genetic condition or a behavioral problem?
Is prejudice a genetic condition or a behavioral problem?
Is being religious a genetic condition or a behavioral problem?
If you ask a question that makes sense, you'll get answers that do the same.

I think the gay debate is analagous to why a person is obese. Is it a choice or is it genetics? Some people have a condition that makes them overweight but I think most people make the reluctant choices that make them obese.
I think a lot of homosexual men are that way simply because of the ease of finding regular sex with multiple partners. I also think some gay men like the fact that they can include themselves into a suppressed group (victim class-people love to be victims). There are a lot of lesbians simply because of pop-culture (and bless them all).
There are a few people that are gay that are not sexual miscreants. They want a healthy monogamous and loving relationship with someone of the same sex and seek the same things as any good person on either side of the fence.

It can be both. Unlike what some people obviously think, alcoholism can be genetically determined. The trick comes in that only an estimated 40 percent of people who are alcoholics have the gene. So obviously there is a majority who make the choice both without the damning gene and against it(in the case of the non-alcoholics who have the gene). I would say that while they may have a determining gene, it holds little sway in the actual lifestyle of it's host.

Current scientific dogma indicates that it is genetic, but I find that it is hard to believe that it is a hundred percent all the time. I have the opinion that there are vulnerable "windows" of time in neurologic development, when forced homosexual activity may alter the sexual preference for the remainder of life.

A problem?? Here's a hint, there have been gay people as far back as history goes. If you've ever been to a farm you will see the male animals get with anything they can, male or female. It's only a problem for some reason to people who feel threatened by other people's sexual practices. It's genetic as five fingers.

It has been proven to be genetic. it is not a choice people make, they are born that way. People will argue that fact but they are wrong. I dont see it as a "problem" but rather as a way of life. Some people are born having an attraction to the oppsite sex, and others to the same sex. You, me nor anyone else has any control over how they are born.
