Colic is horrible. I feel for you.
My daughter cried a whole lot up until four months (the "cut off" age for colic).
The gas relief did work about 50 %. But seeing as how the cause of colic isn't definitive, there was nothing more to do. We played music and danced with her in our arms a lot. We held her at stomach height, back to us, bottom cupped in our hands. Then bounced her up and down with our arms. That seemed to soothe her, and she often fell asleep in that way.
Try anything. Each and every suggestion that you get. Something is bound to work at least a little - but time is the only sure cure.
Be sure you do have help though. Don't hesitate to call your mom or his mom or someone to come take over for an hour or two. I was so sleep deprived when I went through this that I felt like I was going out of my mind!!
Good luck!! It will get better!

That is what colic is and my daughter had it and still has it occasionally and she is 11 months. In gas relief doesn't work what have you given her? Because there is a prescription called Levison drops that can be given to a colic child for gas relief that is 100x's better than the normal gas drops. My daughter is on a colic formula called Nutramigen ( by enfamil) it is VERY pricey about 23-24 a can but works good. Sooner or later she will grow out of this stage. I would try the formula ( for at least a week) and try to get them to give the drops. If there is still major problems you might want to switch doc's or see a specialist to get a better answer.

With colic, there is nothing you can do but try to stay calm yourself. Crying constantly is what babies with colic do. Sometimes a warm bath would calm my son down, and sometimes a product called Gripe Water helped, but time is the only thing that stopped the colic. Eventually, the crying will stop but it could take weeks; they do grow out of it. Good luck

That sounds like colic. Gas relief doesn't always help or you wouldn't hear of new parents still suffering from this issue. It can be a very trying time for new parents. But, if you are still concerned go to a new doctor; it is your child (the most important thing you have or will do) and you have the right to go check it out. There are lots of "old wives" tales to try and by all means try them all until you find one that works, but I hate to tell you this the one that works the most is a lot of patience and the baby will get older and grow out of it soon. Hang in there...

Colic, severe abdominal pain, a symptom of several disorders. When arising in the intestine, it is characterized by spasmodic and irregular contractions of the muscular coat of the intestines. Intestinal colic is often caused by infection, obstruction, irritating food, or purgative medicine. The etiology of infant intestinal colic is poorly understood, although gas and disturbed digestion are suspected causes. Renal colic is caused by a passage of a calculus, or stone, from the kidney through the ureter into the urinary bladder. Biliary colic is caused by the passage of a gallstone from the gallbladder into the bile ducts. The symptoms of colic are often confused with those of appendicitis and peritonitis.

There's really nothing that you can do if the baby has colic but I don't think that the doctor's really understand. When I had my son, he would cry a lot and that's what they told me was wrong with him and I don't think it was.
When a baby is first born, it needs to be swaddled (put tightly in a blanket so his arms and feet can't move around a lot) because the tightness gives them the familirarity of the mothers womb. With my son he was crying a lot, we ended up finding out that they kind of broke his collar bone when they pulled him out so his little bone was sticking out and that's where the pain was. Then he also had eczema around his forehead and upper back so I got this Aveeno baby lotion (in infants) and rubbed it on him and lightly scratched his forehead and he fell asleep with no problem.

Colic babies tend to be gassy. But mostly colic babies are just babies that cry constantly. Your baby very likely has colic and there aren't many things out there that help but they do have a colic formula to help with their bellies. Just try new things like the swing, bouncy seat, walking, dancing, singing or something. There has to be a way to calm your daughter. I have a cousin that has to lay her baby on her stomach across her legs and just bounce the baby until she calms down. It sounds weird but it is the only way that her baby calms down. good luck and remember that she will grow out of it soon.

colic is when a child cries constantly. Whatever the doctor said to do should help. If the gas relief doesnt work, then ask him what else you can do.

colic is when a child cries constantly. Run a vacuum around her, that helped with my friends child when he had colic, or the snow on a tv channel, that helped too.
