Yes it is.. Your baby especially needs that folic acid.. It helps with the development of your baby!! Wal-mart has some over the counter that are pretty cheap.. But you definitely need to be taking those during pregnancy

Just try to get a little folic acid now and then.
I am on my second pregnancy. With my first one, I took them occasionaly after I found out I was pregnant. They made me sick, so I just switched to flintstones. The prenatals are simply to supplement your diet to besure the baby gets necessary nutrients. However, if you watch your diet and eat healthy, Which can be difficult when you are glued to the saltines and ginger ale, you should be fine. but if you can't stomach the prenatals, take the flintstones. I compared the two and it's almost exactly half the other vitamins. So, take one in the morning and one at night (flintstones)
I was taking vitamins about a month before I got pregnant. Then I took the prenantasl for about a month after I found out. I haven't taken anything since, but my body was already doused in vitamins. I need to go to the store soon to get some flintstones. But I'm not worried. Like one of the others said, people were having babies long before the dr started routinely prescribing prenatals. Just be sure to eat healthy and try out the kiddy vitamins.

It is not bad, I didn't take any prenatal vitamins because they were making me feel nauseated. I did, however, make sure I get vitamins, minerals, proteins and fiber through healthy food.
I think they give you vitamins because so many people don't have healthy eating habits.
I do recommend taking them if your life style is busy and you don't have enough time to think about meals.
My baby was perfect healthy 7lb 7 oz. Certain vitamins need other vitamins and proteins to be absorbed by your body. Wouldn't it be great if we can just pop the pill and ensure no defects birth.

I am not sure how bad it is not to take them but When I was pregnant I made sure I did everything possible to make my child healthy. I wasn't able to take prenatal vitamins b/c they made me sick, so the doctor told me I could take flinstone vitamins instead.
I missed a day here and there with not taking them but I wouldn't go though the pregnancy not taking anything.

No it's not BAD, but you should take something to keep yourself a little healthier. I know the prenatal vitamins are horrible, but try flintstone vitamins. That's what I've been taking. The baby takes what it needs from you, the vitamins are to help you. Good Luck!

I didn't take pre-natal vitamins because they made me sick. But remember, the baby is going to take from you what it needs. Try taking some chewables kids vitamins if the prenates bother you

I didn't take prenatal vitamins because they made me very sick when I was pregnant. I did take just regular Folic Acid pills from Walgreens.

The prenatals have a brilliant style of iron in them and alongside with the iron on your eating habitual, it is going to be lots adequate whether you're somewhat anemic. you may choose to be careful with iron because of the fact too lots could be deadly. i does not take iron supplement besides to the prenatals and not using a medical doctors prescription, which provide you the the final option dosing so which you do not overdose.

For thousands of years women had never taken them. In fact our grandparents and someone of our mothers didn't even take them. It wasn't known. We have just come along way through the years to help improve things. Like the health of our babies and children. These prenantal help with stuff like, spinal- bifa. Also if a women doesn't eat that healthy, like alot of fast food and stuff, this helps to make sure the baby will more of what it needs. Not everything though. I wouldn't say it's bad not totake them but It's surely better for you to take them.
