I'm a casual game player who played Nintendo products growing up and bought a PS2 a few years ago. I'm only going to buy one new console, and I'm looking at the 360, the Wii and the PS3. I want the console with the most titles to choose from, offers the most options (without having to by add-ons), looks good on my HDTV and will have more adult titles (no cartoony stuff). I was very happy with my PS2, and I'm looking for the system that will, 5 years from now, have the most titles available used in game-trading stores. I'm not a fanboy of any one company, and could buy any of them regardless of the systems I've owned in the past or preferences toward franchise games like Halo and Zelda. Cost is a factor, but not the only one. I have doubts about the Wii controller. I hear it's buggy and the PS3 one looks more familiar and comfortable. However the Wii isn't HD compatible and wouldn't look as good on my TV. Does anyone have any advice on this purchase? No fanboy responses, please!

i would say go with the XBOX 360 unless your willing to shell out a couple grand for a PS3 which wont be going down until spring. Also 360 has a large collection of games because it has a year of head start on game releases, and as far as games in the future go think about the fact that there are still many places that are selling PS1 games and its been out for a while. The only problem is that in order to play the HD DVDs you have to buy an adapter an extra 199 but still less than PS3 Ive played HD DVDs on my 360 and they look fine, I dont have a HD TV or the HD DVD player for XBOX360

with the xbox 360 it has the most titles out and it had lots of adult games and it look awesome on a hdtv and xbox live is it full swing and its so much fun to play online
right now xboxs are everyware and you can get on for a a good price
the ps3 is a close 2nd the system is very good butfor a lot of $ and it dont have very many games because it just came out but in the long run it will have some good games on it and lots of games like the ps2
the wii looks to be fun but the i think the funfactor for me to wear off in about a week but its the most bang for your buck right now
i would have to say the xbox360 the best choice for right now but look out in the future ps3 and the wii are quickly nipping at the heels of the xbox
do your homework and i am sure you will know what you want

If you're a serious gamer then I'd go for the Xbox. It's possible the PS3 will be better but there are more established titles for the Xbox now and the ps3 can't be much more advanced. For me it's going to be a wii as it's something from the norm but I believe the Xbox will suit your needs.

it sounds like your kinda like me. i dont like all of those cartoony games like mario or donkey kong. if you wait for a while the ps3 is going to come out with a lot of games that sound good like assassins creed and skate. skate is supposed to be a skateboarding game thats a lot more realistic. theres also a trailer for assassins creed on assassinscreed.com. those games dont come out until next year and the ps3 should get cheaper sometime next year. if you want one now with a lot of games already i would get the 360. its already got a lot of games to buy. so out of those three i would get the 360 or the ps3. definetely not the wii if you dont want cartoony stuff. between the 360 and the ps3 it depends on how long you want to wait.

I would say the PS3. I was not able to get one on Launch day. I traded in all my ps2 system and games for my daughters so they could get a gamecube and some games. That was a big mistake. I miss it so much. 1st - PS3 2nd XB360 and 3rd PS2
