Alright, wow okay heres my tips... I had 7 hamsters at one time and here is my story:
I DID NOT seperate my hamsters. This was a TERRIBLE mistake. After a short time (week) I started finding BLOOD in the cage. I ignored it and woke up in the middle of night to find that one of my hamsters eyes were bitten out by another. I had to buy 6 cages.
Hamsters are supposidly fine without being seperated, but this is not true. They should all have their own cage.
Any type of water is fine, but the water despencers are much cleaner. I suggest you rotate the water, because some of them tend to stop working.
The cages are fine, accept for the tunnel cages. Hamsters are normal escape masters, and will find a way out of them. Stick with the aquariums or bared cages (bared are better for more air). The tubes can fall out, and the hamsters can get out and chew up your carpet.
The food doesn't really matter... just give them some crackers or carrots every once in a while as a treat.

are they syrian or dwarf? if they are syrian they all need separate cages or they will fight & eventually kill each other no matter what the sex or age. dwarfs however prefer company & usually will get along, especially if bought at the same time. the 2 u already have may or may not like the 2 new ones and should be separated if u see major fighting with cuts & bleeding. also u dont need more babies so keep the sexes separated they will have way too many babies and not have the room or resources to care for them. also every litter cuts down on the lifespan of the mom. they can have up to 20 babies every 16 days if syrian. and since syrians need separate cages i doubt u have that big a house!
the regular hamster mix is fine, but also give them a treat every other day. small 1/2 inch piece of carrot, broccoli. no citrus fruit for any kind of hamster & no fruit at all if they are dwarf! bedding should be carefresh/and or aspen. no pine or cedar! they will choose where they want their bed just make sure they have plenty of the bedding. they also like plain, dye-free toilet paper which they will shred on their own. i use scott brand. water bottle they will use on their own. dont use a bowl for water.
the bigger the cage, the better. make sure they have a wheel & a hamster ball which u let them run in every night when they wake up. put tape on the lid!

I am going to presume you at least know that dwarf hamsters are social, and syrian hamsters are solitary. Thus, presuming that, it would lead me to believe you have dwarf hamsters.
First, keep the two new hams away from the other two hams. Dwarves can be kept in groups, but they rarely accept new members to the group after a few weeks time of them NOT being in there. That means any new dwarves bought should ALWAYS be bought in same sex pairs, and put in thier own home.
Dwarves do NOT like to be alone, period. If their cage mate dies, you can attempt to merge them in with another pair, but at the first sign of fighting, remove them immediatly.
As for cages, let me put it this way- would you prefer a closet to sleep in, or a bedroom? Hamsters don't -prefer- small area's. They prefer as much room as they can get.
Next- kepted is not a word. If you want 2 more hamsters, you should really learn how to take care of the 4 you have first, and make sure they have an adequet house, and toys, and space.
If you are ignorant enough to get 2 more anyway, you can try them in with the other pair of 2 new hamsters, but if they fight, remove them immediatly. Do you know how to tell sex apart? If not, learn. Pet shops are not always reliable, and you are not set up for babies.

First of all, where did you acquire these hamsters? They should have told you how to care for them!
Second, yes give them the hamster mix & a bottle of water(if you use a bowl of water, you will be changing every 2 minutes) NEVER put hamsters together that DO NOT know each other! Thats like putting 2 Pit Bulls together! For bedding I give mine cut up (white only) paper towels & empty toilet paper rolls! Glass aquariums work good, use a screen top & put a rock on top of that! They are good escape artists!

keep the mom in with the babies until they get old enough for solid food. They wll see their parents drinking and get the idea. If they are old enough, give them regular hampster food and the water bottle. They will adapt. And they do sleep in the shavings usually they like a cubbie hole like a tissue box or something but you just have to clean that cage ever so many days.

it truly is strictly like a case at my Vet's workplace. have self belief it or not, a lifeless mom hamster can nonetheless nurse her children, so do not eliminate the mum too instantly. each and every further day she will be able of provide milk will provide the children a extra robust threat at residing. i does not have have self belief this, except for the Vet telling me this tale very last week. once the mum's milk is gone, you should use KMR or in the experience that they are previous adequate, they are going to discover the food & water for themselves. sturdy success.
