Has anyone ever played the game Dread Pirate?

My 21 year old daughter and her friends are really into pirates since Pirates of the Carribean came out. They have even gotten skull and crossbone tatoos. Would this game be for them? I ordered the bookshelf edition with the wooden book and the cloth map. It sounds neat but I have never seen or heard of it before I saw it on the internet.

A quick look at Board Game Geek shows mixed reviews from the folks there. If your daughter and her friends typically enjoy board games, combined with their new-found love of all things piratical, it seems like a good match.

Apparently, the game was popular enough to spawn a "sequel" entitled "Dread Pirate: Buccaneer's Revenge."
