actually the old commercials about the maytag repair man being the most bored man in town is true. They are quite reliable. If you need parts check out Applianceparts.com they have been good for me.

The later model Maytag washers are garbage. The most expensive like the Neptune are the worst and cost mucho to
repair. Dont believe the commercials or the previous people
answering this question. Most older appliances gave better
service than the newer ones, by manufacturer design.

The only problem I EVER had with a Maytag was the belt.
It was on a very old machine, though, so not unexpected.
By their very nature, they do last a long long time.
