I have identical twin girls. I didn't feel movement until I was 18 weeks. Here's a few facts:
1. Identical twins are from one egg that splits randomly and every pregnancy has a 1 in 250 chance of being twins.
2. Fraternal twins are from two eggs that are both fertilized at the same time. Your chance of fraternal twins does increase with family history. However, it's only relevant on the female's side because the male can't make you produce two eggs. AND, it's only relevant if the twins in your family are fraternal twins.
3. Other things that increase your chances of twins are age (older women are more likely to have twins), ethnicity (more common in African descent, less common in Asians and Hispanic descent), and fertility drugs. Also, the more pregnancies you have the more likely you are to have twins.
Hope this helps! Congrats on your pregnancy and good luck!

I experienced movement at atleast 11 weeks (if not a teeny bit earlier) and although everyone told me I was feeling things too early I knew inside that I wasn't. This is my first pregnancy and I found out at 17 weeks that I am pregnant with twins. My mother felt her babies early also but not until her 2nd, 3rd, and 4th pregnancies. They say that you will feel it earlier if you have been pregnant before because you know what to feel for.
My father is a twin and his mother is a twin... it usually runs on the mother's side.... and can skip generations.

I have 9-year-old twins. And if I can remember that far back---they did move earlier than my singleton pregnancy. Everything seemed to happen earlier with my twins. It is wonderful to feel two distinct babies moving around and after a while you should have enough experience you will be able to tell which twin is kicking! Enjoy it! This is the easy part.

i'm pregnant with twins and in the begining my indications have been terrible however the stream between 12-sixteen weeks exchange into comparable to all my singletons. So what you're experiencing is amazingly regular and its prob no longer a demonstration of twins. you're able to have had an ultrasound completed by now and in the event that they didnt see 2 infants there is prob. no longer 2 infants. yet solid luck and congrats!!!

I am a twin and I had twins. Felt my girls at about 12 weeks, really good strong kicks fluttery stuff a few weeks earlier. My doctor told me its very normal. Twins take up more room, thus they hit the uterine walls earlier than reg. babies. Plus when you are pregnant with twins you measure bigger , I measured 7 weeks bigger my whole pregnancy!
