I have been seeing this dr. the whole time i've been preg. and i have always been a little dissatified with her service, she doesn't seem to care and recently i started the weekly appointments. I have been trying to see her for going on 3 weeks for my 'weekly' appt. i had to miss. She is always booked up so i can't reschedule my appt. from 3 weeks ago and i am getting extremely tired of the lack of care. Do you think it is possible that i can even find a new dr this late in my pregnancy or should i just call her when i go into labor....i am kinda stuck and don't know what to do......Please help!!!!!

It is pretty late. Call the office manager and complain! Call HER and complain! I had a similar experience, and it is very frustrating being preg and being treated so poorly. I have found that opening your mouth and bitching is the best way to get results.

I don't think it is ever too late to find another doctor. If your doctor is one of several in a practice you can call the office and request an appointment with another doctor. Most practices with more than one doctor will have you visit the other doctors at least once in case your doctor is not on call when you go into labor. If your doctor is in a practice by herself, then ask around to other women you know about recommendations of good obstetricians. Call several different offices to see if anyone will take a new patient as far along as you. It is possible you may find one willing to take you on. Many times you will not get your regular doctor to do the delivery anyway because of who is on call or if your doctor can get there in time. If you are just trying to reschedule a missed appointment and you are going weekly, don't worry about trying to have 2 appointments in one week, that is unnecessary. If switching doesn't work before you have your baby, you will probably need to go back to her one more time for your 6 week check-up, but after that, start asking around and find another doctor before your next physical is due.

I think its a tough situation that youre in. Being that youre 37 weeks left till due date, I would try to get another appt in. If you are unable to, then just wait till you go in labor. Make sure though that you are scheduled for a room that way you dont have to worry about it. I do feel for you when your dr hasnt made any time for you. She should be fully aware of what you need. I hope all goes well, and Good luck

Wow. That really stinks. Is she one doctor of a larger practice? Perhaps you could see someone else in the same practice? Have you tried leaving a message for the doctor to call you and talk to you personally about this? Sometimes it's so difficult to get past the appointment desk people to actually talk to a doctor. If I were you, I would consider marching right in there, demanding your medical records and taking them to a new doctor. This late in your pregnancy you really need someone who's looking out for your best interests and your baby's best interests. Good luck to you and wishing you an easy labor and delivery...

You ned to have a doctor that will be able to make time for you. Seems likeyou must have a great doctor becuz shes over booked. The problem is she should have never taken so many paitents becuz you and your baby are suffering for it. Maybe you should talk to a nurse or the office girl about it. If the say theres nothing they can do get a new doctor becuz even though you are so close to the end there is a reason you go to the doctor weekly. My doctor really doesn't have time for me. I don't know if its him or his staff. So maybe you could talk directly to your doctor. It usually works best for me that way.

Is there another doctor at the practice? The doctor I had with my last two had horrible bed side manner but was an excellent doctor ( I had a c-section with the second one and my scar is small) Contact your insurence company for doctor listings to see if they can fit you in, if not you don't have much longer to go and won't have to deal with the doctor.
