I have a co-worker that is a narcissist. She is constantly interrupting my conversations at work and picking on every little thing I say. She really tries to embarrass me. Also, she tries to discrediting my work at staff meetings which later she just copies and changes it a little bit. She tells people that she is a genius but I've never seen anything "genius" produced from her. I am so tired of her eye rolling and sighs. I always have to watch what I say instead of being my natural happy self. How do I deal with this type of person?

The best way to deal with it is to ignore it, as horrible as that sounds. But as time goes on start hinting at your own narcissism, acting like you're the one who is full of yourself, not all the time, just a little bit. Tell her that if she copies your work one more time you will report her to whoever will take that stuff incredibly seriously. And next time she calls herself a genuis say, you must be if you feel the need to pass my shoddy work on as your own. And keep calling her on it. You deserve respect and tell her if she asks why you're being so mean that you are just showing her what it's like to be disrespected by someone who ony thinks of themselves and that you're surprised that she hasn't realized that she does this.

i know this may be hard to believe but i bet there are others in the office that notices her behavior. at my job there is this one slacker and i recently noticed that i am not the only one who is affected by her slacking off. whatever u do do not gossip about her. stay away from her as much as possible. try not to socialize with her. just speak to her only when u have to. ignore the sighs and eye rolling, i do. sometimes when i catch the sighs i ussually say something sarcastic like, something wrong or tired to today we still have 6 hrs to go before we leave.

Anonymously see to it that the lady get a clean mirror a week. much less costly ones from a "5 & dime" keep, or a " dollar keep " , something that's no longer even going to place a dent on your pocket exchange. Amuse your self with the mirrors which you p.c.. by getting a distinctive one each time. confirm that they are small issues which could be saved fairly, and are not taking over area. this can no longer do something for her i'm specific. those variety of folk do no longer take advantageous comments. even though it specific will make you experience extra effective whilst the narcissist ultimately clues into the authentic reason she's been getting all those frigging mirrors!!!!

actually, if she were a narcissist, she would be so wrapped up in herself, that she wouldn't even notice you. True narcissists are only interested in themselves.

What this person you are describing is simply self centered. She thinks much too highly of herself and finds great satisfaction in attempting to get others to believe it.

How do I deal with this sort of person? I agree with them. I tell them they are SOOOOOOO beautiful and that I wish I was JUST like them, the world be so wonderful if we could be just like her. You must ooze sarcasm to get the full effect. She can't argue with you, you are agreeing with her. If she points out your sarcasm, tell her you are soooooooo sorry that she feels that way. Be just like her, "mirror" her if you will. Maybe she will see how annoying she is by being presented with it.

Make sure your work is your work. Do your job the best you can do it. You cannot be the only one noticing this behaviour which is more manipulative than narcissitic. Narcissism is when one is infatuated with oneself. This sounds like someone who dosen't like you and wants to manipulate things to make you look bad. Cover your own butt. Document everthing. Make sure you communicate with others and leave a paper trail. Tell your boss if she is plagerizing your works.

Take a crap on her desk.

BUT if that doesn't work, just avoid her as much as possible. I'm sure others pick up on what she is doing just as you are. It'll only be a matter of time before she gets canned.
