I had this really crazy dream last night. My dad was digging in the dirt and found a t-rex, which was taller than him. (my dad is like 6'4"). My dad brought it in the house and I was really afraid of it. Then my dad trained it like he would a dog. I was still afraid of it. I was trying to find places to hide where it couldn't get me. Then my boyfriend came over in my dream, and then I woke up. Can you help me? it was really weird.

Dad digging in dirt and found a t-rex = things you expect from him, want to make up things
T-rex = high authority figure
Dad trained it like a dog = how you view him as you dad for you
boy friend = person you trust

You probably have some issues with your dad. In your life, he may be a role model to you, but you are afraid to look him up and there may be some failure you see in him. Digging in dirt could symbolizes failure, Found T-rex could mean that you want him to be successful. T-rex brought in the house and trained as dog is like a guilt conscience you see in him. There may things he has been doing in your household that you don't feel it is right. However, his intention is good to your subconscious mind. You are still afraid because this T-Rex or his make up behavior scared you. You have some distance with your dad and that is why you dream of your boy friend, and your boy friend is someone you can share things with. This is coming out from your subconscious mind

Dreams do mean something because it is your mind -- during a time when it is relatively free from inhibitions -- that creates them. You can learn more about how your mind works -- and therefore about yourself -- by exploring dreams in a constructive way. However, simply tell someone your dream and ask them to interpret it --even if you are asking someone who claims to have expertise in dream interpretation -- will usually result in a misleading, or just plain wrong, answer. One approach that is very constructive is Gestalt therapy, for which you would need the help of someone who is trained in that approach. (No, I am not a Gestalt therapist, and I am not marketing my services.) Gestalt is usually done best in a group setting, and there are probably some Gestalt workshops given once in a while at a fairly modest cost near your home. If you are looking for a simpler answer to your dream, you will probably not find it.

i would say this dream has to do with you finding out something. maybe it already has happened and you didn't notice or maybe it's going to happen. to me your dad signifies that you are worried about him or maybe lately your connection with him has been distant. The pet probably represents a close one who you care for.
