actually you are supposed to separate the female as soon as she lays her eggs and just leave the male so he can fertilize and guard the eggs until they hash, then take male out as soon as the eggs hash.

Yes beta females will eat their babies. You have to separate them in a birthing tank that floats inside of or on top of the tank that you have the mom in! The pet store should have this apparatus, as it used to be common to purchase a beta, only to find out it was pregnant. So if they do not have one, contact a vet, and see if he knows who you can get one through. Hope this helps.

she will eventually eat the babies. I would take her out after 5 days.

It will start eating them after the 4 days of their birth. So, better move them to different container.

Congrats.

i don't think female beta's are fighters like the males if you want to be safe though take her out anyway.

Did your mom eat you when you were a little boy? Is that why you are afraid? It's ok, they have people to help you work though the pain.
